Looking to try something new? The Access Boom program was created specifically to teach sailing to children with disabilities, ages 8 and up. Access BOOM uses specially designed Access Dinghies to meet the needs of sailors with both physical and cognitive disabilities.

Masts on lawn:

Please remove or reposition your masts on the lawn for the Ribfest on Saturday. If you must keep your mast on the lawn please move it over to the west side ASAP, as Horseshoes and Volleyball will be set up and played on the east side of the lawn on Saturday.

Whitby/Marina Ribfest and Dance:

Tickets are selling fast and it is looking to be a great success. We are still looking for volunteers to run the games, set up tents etc. Earn work hours and have a great time! Please email me if you are interested in helping out. Games will begin at 4:00.

The winner of the DSC Marine radio is Bart Bies. Congratulations Bart! Fleet collected $120.

The status of Tanker

Tanker had an electrical problem due to bad batteries. I would like to thank Jim Stewart and Bob Nunney for installing new batteries. Apparently there is still a problem with one bank. This has to be investigated but Tanker is usable for Wednesday night's race. We still have to get the mast up and generally have to get the boat organized for race night. This includes filling the gas cylinder for the cannon. Assistance will be much appreciated.

Race markers

I would like to thank Andrew Sensicle and Dale Harron for taking Tanker out yesterday and dropping the marks in place. Well done guys!

Our first race of the season

Copies of the Sailing Instructions 2012 will be available at the upstairs bar on Wednesday afternoon. For skippers who did not get copies at the Skippers' Meeting please take one. There are some significant changes to start sequences and courses, skippers who missed the Skippers' Meeting are advised to read the instructions carefully.
