FROM FLEET CAPTAIN JOHN LATOUR: WINTER SAIL PROGRAM - CHANGED
|
We have a change in the program for tonight’s Winter Sail program. Unfortunately our guest speaker Geoff Moore of North Sails has had to cancel his engagement tonight at our club for personal reasons. Instead we will be showing a movie entitled “With Jean-du-Sud Around the World”. This is an excellent film about the voyage of Yves Gelinas, a Canadian actor and filmmaker who sailed on his Alberg 30 from St. Malo France to Gaspe Quebec via the Southern Ocean and Cape Horn. Comes with great reviews!! Show time is at 7pm.
Next week’s discussion on Race Tactics will see Steve Gurr talking about starts and the first windward leg.

FROM SOCIAL DIRECTOR GEOFF DAW: SOCIAL NEWS
|
No Talent night was another great success this year. Many talented members and guests entertained a large crowd upstairs along with Marty Mathias and his band. Thanks to all those people who were brave enough to perform and to all the people who came out to enjoy their efforts and cheer them on. A special thanks goes to Marty Mathias and his band who started and ended the evening, acted as hosts and performed with some of the talent. For pictures from the night see the website.
WYC’S St. Patrick’s day celebration will be this Saturday. L&C Catering will be serving an Irish dinner starting at 6pm and then Brian O’Sullivan will be entertaining us with a mix of traditional Irish music and other songs. It is your big chance to be Irish for a day and to kiss the blarney stone (known the rest of the year as the rock by the front door). It will be a fun night so don't miss it.
